Nintendo Nintendo 3DS XL - Blue
Nintendo Nintendo 3DS XL - Blue
I don't feel like writing a long review as the other reviews seem to cover the finer points of the item just fine.
I
just want to say, if you have an original 3DS, upgrade to this one if
you can. If you don't have a 3DS at all, buy this one. Your eyes will
love you for it. I rarely played my original 3DS (with 3D on or off)
because the screens were so small and my eyes would get tired after 30
minutes or so (this never happened with my DS Lite, seems to just be
more happening on the screen with 3DS games). I wasn't going to pick up
the XL until I was reading reviews on other sites and almost every one
of them were bragging about how much easier this one is on the eyes.
They couldn't have been more correct. I went to gamestop and traded my
old 3DS and a few games and got the XL, did my system transfer in the
store (took about 30 minutes or so) and walked out with my new XL all
ready to go with my ambassador games and all of the other games I
downloaded from the eshop.
Here are some other changes I have
noticed so far. One huge change I love about this system is that they
moved the stylus back to the right side, so you don't have to fumble
with the system trying to get it out of the back anymore (I know it
seems like a small change, but it makes a huge difference in my
opinion). Another thing I haven't seen pointed out yet is they took away
the green 3D indicator light that was right next to the top screen, not
sure how important that is to everyone else, but it was quite
distracting to me at times and I am glad it is gone. Also, the 3D slider
now has a slight ridge in it so you can tell when you have turned it
completely off as well, not a very important change, but useful
nonetheless.

Last year I wrote a review for the New Super Mario
Bros. Wii U Bundle, because certain customers were complaining about
pricing here on Amazon.com. This year, I am once again called to duty to
do my small part in trying to help defend the reputation of console
that has received more than normal amounts of trolling and criticism.
First let me clarify this product, which many people believe (or are just calling) to be fake. According to Nintendo.com, this is a Walmart Exclusive bundle. It comes with a 32GB Wii U, a Wii U Gamepad, the Sensor Bar, AC adapter, HDMI cable, Wii U GamePad AC adapter, GamePad Stand, GamePad Cradle, Console Stand and 2 (boxed) games: Mario Kart 8 and Nintendo Land. The MSRP is $299.99. Since it is not supposed to be available anywhere other than Walmart, certain sellers are offering it here on Amazon, with slight margins. Whether you get it here on Amazon from a third party seller, or save-money-and-live-better by getting it through Walmart is completely up to you. That said there is no reason to bash the reputation of the product!
As a final point, I would like to address a certain troll known as Edward Nigma. He is infamous for trolling reviews on every single console (Nintendo and Microsoft) except for Sony consoles, and this bundle is NO exception. Here is what he said about this bundle:

Just got mine in today and everything works great! The only thing that we didn't find out until later was that the duck hunt gun doesn't work on newer TVs. Other than that everything was great! I would recommend this to everyone.

- Console-based video gaming is one of the most popular of modern digital technologies, cutting across age, demographic and gender divides. Today's players have three dominant platforms to choose from: Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 by Microsoft. Each is an impressive multifunctional device, with designs meant to encourage integration into existing home entertainment systems and networks, but each goes about this in different ways. Taking a few minutes to examine the main features, and getting more familiar with available options, accessories and possible limitations of each console is the optimal way to determine which is the best choice for the players in a household.

- So I just got this today for Christmas and it's so beautiful I could
cry. I fell in love with it as soon as it was announced and it has
exceeded every one of my expectations. I also have the LoZ LE 3DS and
this is my first time owning one of the XL versions of the Nintendo
handhelds.
Pros: It's surprisingly light; I honestly expected it to be heavier than the original 3DS design, which is why I've always shied away from the XL models.
The screen is huge and makes viewing certain parts of games much easier on my eyes.
The 3D slider clicks when it is off, which is a nice feature. Sometimes my finger would slide on my 3DS and accidentally turn up the 3D, so it's great to have that little added security.
I love love LOVE the matte finish of the system. Much as I still love my LoZ 3DS, the high gloss shows smudges and fingerprints too much for my liking. Plus it just looks classier to me.
I can't say anything about the battery since I'm in the process of giving it its first full charge at the moment.
The fact that Nintendo went back to the hard plastic stylus. The folding aspect of the stylus for the original 3DS made them all but impossible for me to use - they
would constantly slide closed on me while using them.
Cons:
Even though mine doesn't have the problem (yet), I am all too aware of the top screen wobble others have mentioned.
And this also hasn't happened yet, but I know it will soon enough - the stylus loosening up in its spot and falling out.
So all in all, this is a solid design from Nintendo and will definitely appeal to any Nintendo fan, especially those of us who remember spending their childhood parked in front of the TV with their copy of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt. GO TO STORE

If one looks at the 3DS with an unbiased,
objective point of view, there is a lot to love. It is basically a
next-gen successor to Nintendo's vastly successful DS handheld, with the
horse-power of a console somewhere between the Gamecube and the Wii. It
utilizes a very cool 3-D effect that, when done right, really adds to
the overall immersion of the gaming experiences available on it.
Everything about it is an improvement on the original DS. Granted, it
also has some caveats and issues as well. The 3DS XL does a very good
job delivering the goodness of the original 3DS, while making vast
improvements over its smaller brother original. In this review, I will
focus on the differences and improvements this model makes on the 3DS
line. I'll warn you right now, this is a long review. If you don't like
long reviews, then you may want to skip this. :P
Screen Size: With a title that includes "XL," obviously the increase in size is the biggest difference between this and the original 3DS. It may be easy to hear that the screens are 90% bigger than the original, but it really is a stark difference when you take the system out of the package and see it for yourself. The XL's screens are HUGE compared to the original. It's comparable to the jump between the DSi and the DSXL, for those savvy to what that means, but in this case its even bigger because the top screen is in a widescreen format. Despite the size increase, the picture is still crisp and pops with nice detail. I thought that because the screen would be bigger, but with the same resolution as the original, the XL's picture would be distorted and fuzzy, but that's not the case here. Read more

Nintendo Video Game Console
Arguably the single most important console in
video game history, Nintendo Entertainment System (hereafter referred to
as the NES), along with SUPER MARIO BROTHERS, singlehandedly
resurrected the video game industry after the historic crash of
1983-1984. Rather than reviewing the system itself, which has been done
many times, I think many people may find the history how of this
revolutionary console came to the videogame industry's rescue very
interesting; I know I do. I draw much of this information from various
websites, one very good one in particular; unfortunately, I can't really
plug them due to Amazon's policies. Email me if you want the websites.
By 1983, the gaming industry, in existence for a mere twelve years, had risen to an astonishing 3.2 billion dollar industry. Atari spearheaded the industry, which introduced its first console in 1977 (Atari Video Computer System), and since had grown to hold two thirds of the entire market. However, in 1984 all this would end with a thunderous crash. This concise overview will show you the history of the home consol crash and how the NES came to the rescue.
In 1976, Warner Communications bought Atari for $28 million from the company's founder, Nolan Bushnell. Over the next two years, Atari, suffering major production problems and Bushnell's bizarre management, lost Warner millions. Bushnell and Warner's CEO fought, and in 1978 Bushnell was forced to leave. Warner totally revamped the working style, and in 1979-1980, produced twelve new titles. However, Atari was still dragging down Warner's stock. Struggling to gain the market share, Atari made the smartest move they possible could have; in 1980, they began licensing arcade games, the first being SPACE INVADERS.
